The taxi service in Ibiza has stops in the main areas of the island and at the most popular tourist spots during the summer. The most famous beaches and nightclubs also have their own taxi stands.
Ibiza taxis are white and have a colored stripe on the door, along with a “taxi” sign and a green light on the roof to indicate when they’re available. You can only take a taxi at a designated stand; it’s uncommon to stop one on the street if it’s not at a stand.

Avoid ‘Pirate’ Taxis
In recent years, Ibiza has faced issues with so-called pirate taxis: private drivers using their cars to offer transport services, sometimes at lower rates than official taxis. These drivers do not provide guarantees or security, and their activity is pursued by the law, so both the driver and passengers can be fined.
Official taxis in Ibiza are recognized by a diagonal colored stripe on the door (varies by municipality: purple, red, green, or blue; in Vila, they feature a badge over the Ibiza flag). They also have a blue rear license plate and an identifier with the letters SP.
The demand for official taxi services in high season contributes to the presence of these unauthorized services, but remember that they lack safety and guarantees, so it’s much safer to choose official taxis.
